Elektor’s latest edition of the year is now available for your viewing pleasure. This edition is, as always, available to purchase you online or in print – if you choose to receive your print copy, you can have it delivered straight to your door at no shipping cost. GOLD and GREEN Elektor members can download their identical PDF version here.

This edition is full of interesting articles, reviews and projects for your interest and enjoyment. One of our recommendations is one of our LABS projects: the Elektor mbed interface. This article explores the world of the extended open source library as well as the free online code editor and suite of compilers made available by ARM as a rapid prototyping platform. The project examines the uses and options available when using mbed compatible hardware, and examines what else you can do with them to add to your own design.

There is also another exciting LABS project involving a wireless power converter. This article presents a pair of high efficiency wireless power transfer modules with a capacity of up to 50 watts over distances of up to a few centimeters. This project promotes the current special price we have available for this kit exclusively for members of the Elektor community! We want you to try this promising technology and let us know what you think.

A feature article (Door Spy using Raspberry Pi) also presents software that allows you to communicate with a visitor to your home using your smartphone! It’s great to use an intercom to see who’s at your front door when you’re home, but what if you’re not there? With the project presented here, you can, in principle, see from anywhere in the world who has rang your doorbell, have a conversation with your visitor and even open the door for them – all from your smartphone. Not one to miss.

On top of all this there is the usual range of articles, reviews, projects and of course the famous Retronics pages to stimulate your interest, creativity and imagination. We’ve got all of our updates and news to keep you up to date with the world of Elektor, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it!
