Just
over 50 miles east of Chattanooga in the Ocoee River gorge of the Cherokee National Forest, this world-class whitewater venue was the site of the 1996 Olympic Slalom Canoe and Kayak Competition. An abundance of good commercial rafting outfitters are also in the area, just downstream, with programs for all skill levels.

Fishing

Fly-fishing for trout on the Hiwassee River or float-fishing on the Tennessee River is the perfect way to spend the day for many anglers. Bass, crappie and catfish thrive in Chickamauga, Nickajack and Watts Bar Lakes.

Golf

Public and private golf courses are plentiful and a few, including Black Creek, Council Fire and The Honors, are world-class.
