Chattanooga Market has released its schedule of events for this upcoming season, meaning that spring is almost here. Opening weekend is set for Saturday 4/23-Sunday 4/24, with the smell of fresh kettle corn and Lupi’s pizza in the air, while live music is playing under the First Tennessee Pavilion. Food artisans will be sampling their fresh jams, salsas, cakes, pesto spreads, local breads and farm goat cheeses. Locals simply can’t wait to step back into routine during the spring and summer months; starting off their Sundays with a visit to Chattanooga Market, even if just for some family time. This year Chattanooga Market is celebrating its 16th season, complete with a birthday party in June. The Market boasts new vendors, musicians and events that Chattanoogans look forward to every year: Beast Feast, FiveStar Food Fight, Street Food Festival, Oktoberfest and about 30 more – and that’s just on Sundays…
New this year, Public Markets, Inc., is introducing two more Markets for East Hamilton County Market fans. Ooltewah will host a Friday Night Market at Cambridge Square beginning Friday, May 6th. “The Square” is a perfect setting to kick-off the weekend with live music, local arts & crafts and family fun. Cambridge Square restaurants will have their doors open, serving up happy hour drinks and some terrific local food. On both Wednesday evenings and Saturday evenings, Collegedale Commons (future sight) will host the Collegedale Market offering fresh produce, local arts & crafts, artisan foods and local food trucks as well. The Collegedale Market will begin on Wednesday, May 4th (4-7pm) and continue for both Wednesday’s and Saturdays throughout the summer.
The popular Chattanooga River Market continues on the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza for its 7th season, and is opening in just two short weeks – Saturday, March 19th. The River Market is a weekly showcase of the talented artists and craftsmen in our area and a highlight for many tourists. Free yoga and live music are a regular feature, a draw for many Chattanoogans each week.
Public Markets, Inc. is currently comprised of Chattanooga Market, Cambridge Square Market, Chattanooga River Market and Collegedale Market and is a non-profit 501(c)3 entity.
