CSO Hires New Music Librarian

AChison Peytonfter 40-year CSO veteran, Janet Hale, retired from her position as librarian and flutist, the CSO has announced the appointment of Megan Chison Peyton to fill the librarian spot beginning in July.

“We are delighted to welcome Megan to this new role with the CSO. She has been performing with us for the past two seasons as a section violist. She and her husband will be relocating from Greenville, SC, and it will be great to have her in Chattanooga full-time,” says CSO Executive Director Molly Sasse. Peyton is a graduate of the University of Texas and holds a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Georgia, along with a Music Therapy Equivalency Certificate. Prior to her new position she was Principal Viola for the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and a section violist for the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.
